WATER SOFTENER
A water softener is a device used to remove hard minerals mainly calcium and magnesium from water. Hard water can cause scaling, damage to plumbing, stains on bathroom fittings, and reduce the efficiency of home appliances.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Hard water passes through a tank filled with resin beads.
2. These beads are coated with sodium (salt) ions.
3. As the water flows through, calcium and magnesium ions swap places with sodium ions.
4. The result is soft water exiting the system.
5. Periodically, the system performs a regeneration cycle using a brine (salt) solution to clean and recharge the resin beads.

BENEFITS OF A WATER SOFTENER:
-
Extends the life of appliances (washing machines, geysers, dishwashers).
-
Keeps bathroom fittings shiny (no white stains or deposits).
-
Reduces soap and detergent usage.
-
Makes skin and hair feel softer after bathing.
-
Prevents scaling in pipes and taps.

TYPES OF WATER SOFTENER:
-
Automatic – Fully self-regenerating; minimal maintenance.
-
Semi-automatic – Requires manual initiation of regeneration.
-
Manual – User must control all functions manually.

MAINTENANCE:
